Participation in the Training Workshop "Protecting and Promoting FoRB in Lebanon"

10 February 2026

Two students from the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Beirut Arab University, together with Professors Tala Zein and Sara Zein and the Coordinator of the Human Rights Center, participated in a training workshop for the Educational Committee within the framework of the project “Protecting and Promoting the Freedom of Religion and Belief in Lebanon through Education, Advocacy, and Interfaith Engagement”, implemented by the Adyan Foundation in partnership with Danmission.

The project adopts a multi-level approach to advancing Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB) in Lebanon by engaging educators, policymakers, religious leaders, and civil society actors to address societal stigma and legal barriers. It focuses on integrating FoRB education into secondary schools and universities, raising public awareness, empowering community and religious leaders, and advocating for policy and legal reforms.

At the educational level, the project engages students, educators, and parents from partner institutions - including Beirut Arab University, Université La Sagesse, Saint Joseph University, Lebanese American University, Notre Dame University, and the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik - to contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of two FoRB educational tools developed for secondary schools and universities. The selected participants will serve as members of the FoRB Educational Committee throughout the project, playing a key role in ensuring that the developed tools are pedagogically sound, contextually relevant, and adaptable to both school and university environments.
