A Workshop for the Lebanese Society for Mathematical Sciences At Beirut Arab University

The Faculty of Science at Beirut Arab University, hosted at its Premises in Debbieh on the 26^th of April 2012,  a workshop for the Lebanese Society for Mathematical Sciences in the field of "Algebra as a Science of Mathematics", that was organized by the Department of Mathematics & Computer at BAU Faculty of Science and the American University of Beirut. Representatives from Heads of Departments from the AUB, LAU, Notre Dame, BAU and the Lebanese University and members from the Lebanese Society for Mathematical Sciences and a group of specialists in Algebra attended the workshop.

During the day, International Professors from the field of Mathematical Sciences, namely Professor Edward Formank, Pennsylvania University, USA; Dr. Mahmoud Al Jundi, University of Cairo; and members from Society for Mathematical Sciences gave lectures for the purpose of giving collective momentum and contributing to the success of the conference that will complete its work at AUB, Beirut Site.

The day was concluded with the defense of two PhD Theses written by students from the Department of Pure Mathematics. The students were Hassan Tarraf and Weam Zaid both of whom were supervised by Professor Mohammad Adbul Rahim and Professor Ahmad Al-Sayyed.
