IBEF 2015

Under the patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, the International Beirut Energy Forum (IBEF) 2015 held in Le Royal hotel from 9-11 September is one of the most reputable and professional energy event in the Middle East addressing sustainable energy issues and projects and attracting key energy people from Lebanon, the Arab World, and the international community.

Organized by the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), this event has received the support and participation of a large number of key players in the energy sector. Main supporters are the League of Arab States (LAS), the European Union (EU), the Central Bank of Lebanon (BDL), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the ESCWA, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) among many others.

Faculty members Drs. N. Abdel Karim, M. Tarnini, and students from the Electric Power and Machines Engineering program at the Beirut Arab University have attended the forum for its important role in promoting green ideas at the national scale. It was a great opportunity to learn more about renewable sources and to connect with other professionals in the field. Main topics were the Lebanese infrastructure and technical challenges and solution, Energy Efficiency building codes, Sustainable energy finance mechanism and Grid connectivity and power quality.
