LOS Angeles Beirut sister city committee
16 October 2015The LOS Angeles Beirut sister city committee was established to create a bridge of understanding and friendship between the residents of these two great cities, to foster cultural , educational , social, and business exchanges.
From BAU, Mohammad AL Ahmad and Amir Al Arab were selected to participate in the upcoming 2015 Engineering Fall exchange program , the purpose of this trip is to enhance civic engagement , leadership skills , and expose them to civil engineering facilities and on site experience and getting to know new exquisite cultures.

- City of Los Angeles Sanitation ( tour to transfer stations solid waste , landfills , waste water treatment plant )
- Visit to EPA ( Environmental Protection Angency ) and watching a seminar of how the do works according to cooperation between each others and voting for the best solution that will help the community
- RBE,Inc. (structural Engineering Firm ) Consultant company that works with wood structures
- Morillo construction company ( Engineering construction firm ) : Construction Management Project Management stuffs
- Tours at universities in los Angeles (CSUN USC LMU ) and know how their academy works ( meeting with deans chairman of civil engineering)
- Museums Of Arts , Parks visit , lakes
- Meeting members of the LA city Hall
- Meeting Judge James Kaddo and watching a court

Exchange program purpose is to expose Lebanese Engineering Students to Best Engineering Practices, Leadership, Pluralism, Civic Engagement and Los Angeles Culture with the aim to encourage them take back knowledge / enable them to build a better future for a more productive, stable and effective society in Lebanon
