Training Workshop on "Child Rights in Humanitarian Contexts: From Legal Frameworks to Reality"
14 July 2026The Human Rights Center at Beirut Arab University, in collaboration with Save the Children and with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), organized a 3-day training workshop on child rights between legal norms and contextual realities.
The training introduced students to international and national child rights frameworks, children's rights in humanitarian settings and armed conflict, advocacy, accountability, and humanitarian principles. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants also explored how youth can contribute to monitoring, awareness-raising, and community engagement while promoting safe, rights-based responses.
As the next phase of the project, participating students will design and implement a youth-led community initiative that addresses child rights issues, translating the knowledge acquired during the training into practical action and strengthening their role as active responders within their communities.
