Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Enhances Academic Exchange and Collaboration at Sapienza University
18 March 2025Dr. Mohammad El-Dakdouki, Chairperson of the Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Science, has successfully completed a staff mobility programme at Sapienza University of Rome in Italy. This prestigious opportunity was made possible through the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme promoted by the International Relations Office at Beirut Arab University. The programme presents an opportunity for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and academic excellence.
Dr. El-Dakdouki was selected from a highly competitive pool of international applicants to participate in this mobility programme. During his time in Rome, he delivered an insightful seminar titled “The Power of the Small: Bridging Gaps with Nanotechnology.” In this seminar, he explored the transformative impact of nanotechnology in various fields, including drug delivery, medical imaging, and green chemistry, engaging faculty members and students in meaningful dialogue. Additionally, Dr. El-Dakdouki conducted a specialized lecture for Master’s students entitled “Methods for Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization.” This interactive session provided students with practical perspectives and a deeper understanding of current techniques in nanoscience, which was met with great enthusiasm.
To strengthen international ties and foster future collaborative research opportunities, Dr. El-Dakdouki engaged in productive discussions with Professor Ilaria Fratoddi during his visit. Both parties expressed interest in exploring research collaborations that would benefit both BAU and Sapienza University.
