A “Professional Forum” for Pharmacy Students at Beirut Arab University
02 October 2013The Faculty of Pharmacy at Beirut Arab University-Beirut Campus organized a two-day “Professional Forum” aimed at informing and advising students towards professional domains related to pharmacy field. It also aimed to allow students to benefit from a practical experience of the job-market through some of its most prominent, important, distinguishable , and professional pharmacists Alumni.
The Forum presented students with pioneering experiences in pharmacy across Lebanon, focusing on advising and guiding students to various successful ways of taking decisions concerning their future careers. It highlighted job-market needs and related these to the required skills needed.
The Forum which was attended by Prof. Abdalla Lakkany, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy , was organized by Dr. Mohamed Issa and Dr. Lama Soubra, Faculty Staff at the Pharmacy Practice Department and hosted the Head of the Lebanese Pharmacists’ Order Dr. Rabih Hassouna, Director of the Pharmaceutical Department at the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Colette Raeidi, Director of Research &Development at Pharmaline Dr. Sola Keryakos, Director of Roche Dr. Abdel Rahman Sabra, Pharmaceutical Commission Superintendent at the NSSF Dr. Mirna Matna, Dr. Olfat Osta from the AUBMC, Dr. Lama Mashmoushi and Dr. Shahinaz El Masri. The participants talked about their experiences and the highlights of their careers, as well as the various prospects and opportunities presented by the profession. On the other hand, Prof. Lakkany stressed on the importance of introducing students to successful role-models and experts in pharmacy, since such gatherings open the door for the contemplation of the future and broadening enriching horizons.
