A Teaching Diploma Launched at Beirut Arab University

The Faculty of Arts at Beirut Arab University has launched a Specialized Teaching Diploma (TD) as of the Academic Year 2014/2015. The Diploma takes one Academic Year and consists of 28 Credits, studied in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The TD seeks to encourage learners to partake in the educational process and to link between the learners’ skills and the job-market requirements.

The Diploma aims at assimilate professional standards and ethics while introducing learners to the necessary theories, principles and concepts that produce academically and professionally qualified graduates. The purpose is to establish effective communication channels with students at various educational levels, which are also needed for a successful career in teaching.

The Diploma also aims at providing students with the necessary skills needed for curriculum design and development, classroom management and conducting evaluation, in addition to developing the learners’ skills in dealing with modern technology relevant to teaching, learning and organizing student data. The TD further introduces learners to the basic principles of constructive education, as well as behavioral, cognitive and social theories. Learners also learn about best practices and the creative potentials of their later students.
Registering for the TD requires the learner to be the holder of a BA or BSc from the Faculty of Arts or the Faculty of Sciences at BAU, or from any other recognized university.
