“Amaken Band” Musical Concert at BAU
23 March 2016The good old music days of Fairuz, the Rahbani Brothers, Salwa Quatrib, and Romeo Lahoud, were revived in over an hour and more, during which the audience were taken back in time at BAU. These memories were lived in a Musical Concert organized by the Public Relations Administration at Beirut Arab University for “Amaken” Band - owned and supervised by Maestro Andre Hajj, the Main Conductor of the Lebanese National Orchestra - and the Singer Loreine Hage, whose sweet voice took the audience through time to the shores of serenity and peace through a selection of Oriental and Lebanese songs.
The lyrics of Romeo Lahoud and the Rahbani Brothers, mixed with their music and that of Issam Raji and Ziad Rahbani, produced a musical tapestry painted by seven musicians who supported Loreine’s voice and performance, extending pleasure to the audience through their dreaming music in Jamal Abdel Nasser Hall- Beirut Campus on the 23rd of March, 2016.
The Concert was attended by Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, President of BAU, Dr. Omar Houri, BAU Secretary General, in addition to the Deans of Faculties and Ms. Zina Ariss, Director of the Public Relations, and a group of Artists, Musicians and a large audience.
After the Lebanese and the BAU Anthems were played, Ms. Nadine Koleilat introduced the event, emphasizing the continues efforts to organize these kinds of concerts at the University, dedicating that concert to the soul of Late BAU Secretary General Mr. Issam Houri, who engraved his prints in each stone in this outstanding Educational Institution.
