Beirut Arab University Organizes “The Engineering Projects Day”

The Faculty of Engineering at Beirut Arab University, Debbieh Site, organized its “14th Engineering Projects Day” on the 19th of April 2012. Students submitted 132 engineering projects that were presented to a number of engineering companies for them to select the most prominent in order to develop them.

The event was attended a number of representatives of engineering companies in Lebanon; Mayors of Al Kharroub Region, and representatives of the Industrialists Association and banks, President of Beirut Arab University, Prof. Amr Galal El- Adawi; Secretary General, Mr. Issam Houri, Deans of Faculties, Faculty Members, Director of Public Relations Administration Mrs. Zina Ariss, and interested audience.

In his speech, Professor El-Adawi seized the opportunity to praise all the students' projects emphasizing the importance of keeping up with all those ideas presented during the day. He also noted that the Faculty has reached the international standards in terms of performance as well as academic content and thus assured the university's confidence about and preparedness for International Accreditation.

Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Beirut Arab University Prof. Khaled Baghdady,  linked the goal of organizing the Engineering Day to the need to introduce the Faculty students' work to entities and institutions. To this end, he invited engineering companies to select the projects they see suitable for development and adopt them, as the Center for Entrepreneurship at BAU does, for marketing purposes.

Professor Ahmad Atiah Ahmad, Faculty Member at Beirut Arab University, and the Engineering Day Senior Coordinator, described the students' projects as the glimpse of hope and a reassuring hope for the future. He pointed that the Faculty will soon attain the the Engineering and Technology Accreditation Council Certificate.

After distributing certificates of appreciations to representatives of participating bodies, attendees toured the Engineering Exhibit Sections whereby students had the chance to explain their projects in more details.
