Dr Omar Issam Houri BAU Secretary General

In accordance with a proposal by Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, President of Beirut Arab University, and upon a decree by the Board of Trustees of the Waqf El Bir Wal Ihsan Society, Dr. Omar Issam Houri has been appointed as Secretary General of Beirut Arab University.
The new Secretary General was born in Beirut in 1972 and received a PhD in Law from the University of Ludwig Maximillian in Munich, Germany; an MA in Law from the Duke- Durham University, North Carolina, USA; and his BA in Law from Beirut Arab University. 
Dr. Houri had assumed the position of Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at BAU, Assistant Dean of the Faculty and Director of the Human Rights Center at the University. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Waqf El Bir Wal Ihsan Society and an appeal attorney. 

Dr. Houri has further worked as a chartered expert on the Lebanese Law at the Munich Court, Germany, and a researcher at the Protection Center, Johns Hopkins University-Washington – USA, and is the author of a number of legal Research Papers and Publications.
