Flu Vaccination Campaign at Beirut Arab University

The Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University organized an “Influenza Flu Vaccine” Campaign day, with the cooperation of “Sanofi Aventis”, on Friday 21st of October 2016 at the main campus of the university. The Campaign Day included flu vaccine shots given to BAU staff and students. The vaccines were all given by medical students accompanied by an  awareness info and slides that emphasized on influenza virus and its complications, and the importance of the vaccine against this influenza. 
This event was preceded, on Thursday the 20th of October 2016, with a press conference event, where a lecture was given by Dr. Marwan El Sheriff, from Sanofi Aventis followed by another presentation, given by Dr. Hala Ahmadieh, from the Medical Staff at Beirut Arab University. This lecture was attended by the Vice President for Medical Sciences Prof. Esam Osman and the Deans of the Faculties in addition to students and staff and focused on influenza virus, its seriousness, the way it is transmitted and ways to prevent it. Information was also provided on the importance of the influenza vaccine shots that should be taken yearly.
