Moot Court Competition
22 September 2012Within RWI’s Regional Program in the MENA region, the Arab Academic Human Rights Network (AAHRN) is holding a Human Rights Moot Court Competition for law students from universities members of the AAHRN.
Written on a cutting-edge topic currently debated and related to the protection of human rights in the Arab context, the hypothetical case is operating as the basis of the competition, and students argue the merits of this case by writing legal memorials and preparing oral arguments for presentation in front of human rights experts acting as the fictive Arab Court on Human Rights.
On September 22nd and 23rd, the Moot Court will be hosted by the Human Rights Centre of the Beirut Arab University in Lebanon, with the participation of eight teams from four Arab countries: Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco and Palestine.
