The Cultural Forum 2013 at BAU Witnesses Different Talents

For the second year in a row, the Faculty of Science organized its “Second Creative Forum” on Debbieh Site on the 9th May, 2013. The event was attended by the President of BAU, Prof. Dr. Amr Galal El Adawi, BAU Secretary General, Mr. Issam Houri, in addition to the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Rajaa Fakhoury, the deans of faculties, BAU directors and the guest of honor, the Musician Elias El Rahbani.

The event was commenced with the Lebanese national anthem and the BAU anthem, followed by a screening of the BAU film that introduces the various campuses, faculties and centers at BAU.

 Prof. Fakhouri, then, gave a speech, drawing the attention to the fact that the Forum was held despite the pressures that the Faculty of Science is witnessing due to its preoccupation with the international accreditation process. The coordinator of the Forum, Poet Mahdy Mansour, also gave a speech in which he expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the Forum, including the students, the participants and the BAU presidency.

After the students presented their creative performances, ranging from songs, through poetry to theatrical performances, Elias EL Rahbani delivered an inspirational speech on the importance of creativity in human life. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and honorary shields, as well as honoring Elias El Rahbani.
