The Eighth Job Fair at BAU
21 April 2015Beirut Arab University Career and Alumni Office organized the eighth Job Fair in Debbieh Campus on the 21st of April, 2015, with the participation of 60 commercial, educational, financial, industrial and engineering establishments. The event was attended by faculty deans and academic staff-members, in addition to Mr. Issam Houri, BAU Secretary General, BAU directors, the representatives of the participating businesses, as well as a large crowd of students and interested people.
The Job Fair aimed to introduce the students to the job-market and its requirements, by providing them with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the various domains and competencies required when submitting their CVs.
The event opened with the Lebanese National Anthem and the BAU Anthem, followed by a welcoming note by Mrs. Iman Abu Haibe Head of Unit of the Alumni and Career Office, in which she highlighted the University's continuous interaction with different scientific and commercial establishments as well as firms in Lebanon and the Arab World. The University, thus, prepares graduates capable of pursuing a career.
In his speech, the Head of the Job Fair Committee, Prof. Dr. Adel Kordi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, described the fair as a promising opportunity for the students to get to know the Lebanese, regional and the international job-markets. It also provides the private sector with the opportunity to discover the qualifications of BAU graduates. Prof. Kordi reiterated that the link between the job-market and the various faculties at BAU enhances the harmonization between job-market requirements and the skills developed by BAU graduates.
