The President of BAU Participates in the Meeting of Arab and European Universities Presidents in Barcelona

The President of Beirut Arab University, Prof. Dr. Amr Galal El Adawi participated in the Meeting of Arab and European Universities Presidents that was held at the University of Barcelona from the 28th of May 2013 till the 2nd of June 2013. The meeting was attended by 200 participants from various European and Arab universities. The BAU delegation consisted, in addition to El Adawi, of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hanafy Holail, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences and the Director of the Human Rights Center, Dr. Omar Houri.

The Meeting discussed the common higher education potentials and challenges in the Arab World and Europe. The speeches and interventions focused on issues of the internationalization of higher education, horizons of scientific research and training, and the participants presented the academic experiences of their respective universities.

The Meeting highlighted on elements of innovation and entrepreneurship at universities, as well as the investment of research potentials through the enhancement of the qualifications of PhD holders and promoting the academic and research levels of staff-members.

The Meeting concluded with a reiteration of the Arab-European cooperation through a crystallization of sustained cooperation and the drafting of protocols in both scientific research and quality assurance.
