The Students’ Activities Department Concludes its Season of Activities at BAU

The Students’ Activities Department at Beirut Arab University concluded its season of activities for the Academic Year 2013-2014 by holding a festival that hosted the art groups of all three campuses. The art groups presented a set of Arabic and Foreign Songs, in addition to folk and modern dances. The festival also included an exhibition of paintings by students and artists from the Russian Cultural Center. The event which took place on the 14th of May 2014,  was attended by Prof. Dr. Amr Galal El Adawi, President of the University, Mr. Issam Houri, Secretary General of BAU, Prof. Essam Osman, Vice President for Medical Sciences and Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Ms. Nadine Abla, Head of the Students’ Activities Department, in addition to BAU administrators, employees, students and graduates. 
According to tradition, the Drama Club presented a play entitled “Barrat El Jaow”, which dealt with the interference of censorship in theatrical works, highlighting that such interference and strict censorships lead to the ruining of some classics. The performance was presented as a comedy with a satirical tone, and was written by Mohamed Al Saoudi and directed by Hassan Al Masri. The actors were Marawan Al Masri, Batoul Abou Al Ardat, Mohamed Darwish, Rima Chehadeh, Bilal Yousef, Rayan Al Alti and Omar Daouk. 
The Students’ Activities Department also inaugurated the first gym to be established at BAU in Beirut. The gym has been equipped with the latest sports equipments to serve the students and employees at the University.
