In solidarity with the people and children of Gaza, the artist Ahmad Kaabour had a performance at Beirut Arab University on Jamal Abdel Nasser Theater under the title "Peace to the Children of Gaza” in the presence of Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, Ambassador of Egypt to Lebanon, Alaa Mousa, Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Ashraf Dabbour, represented by Mr. Nazih Shamma, Deputies Dr. Fadi Alameh and Mr. Ibrahim Mneimneh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bir wal Ihsan and Chairman of University Board of Trustees, Dr. Ammar Houry, President of Beirut Arab University, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, Secretary-General, Dr. Omar Houri, Deans of faculties, and a crowd of intellectuals and interested people.
The concert started with the Lebanese national anthem and the University anthem, followed by a speech by Rima Shehab: "I know that it is not easy to be a person living in the Middle East. It's really not easy to be born and live in this place. Despite the beauty of the geography around us, we carry a long history of human suffering that seems to be endless."
Shehab continued: "Thank you, Mr. Ahmad, because whenever you shed your voice high. You helped us feel that our voices with you are not alone and are still alive and that there are those who feel that homelands have dignities that will be safeguarded, even if failures become an endless trait."
After screening the video film of the song “Meen”, Ahmad Kaabour entered with his band. This artist who sang for the poor and needy, for the refugee and the oppressed, to Palestine, to Beirut and Lebanon, performed some of his works.
After a break with a film about Gaza Children prepared by the Public Relations and Communications Department at Beirut Arab University, followed by a video of the song “Beirut Zahra”, Ahmad Kaabour continued his songs. At the end he sang his most well-known song Ounadikom which lyrics are written by the Palestinian Poet Toufic Ziad
This artist who holds the humanitarian issues on his shoulders, and who is known by his nationalist songs, sang for the human being, for love, for Palestine and the right of return for Palestinian refugees, considers that art shall not be sold or bought as a commodity, but art is truth, courage and honesty.
