Beirut Arab University Celebrates “Homecoming” with Star Joseph Attieh
24 September 2025Kicking off the new academic year, the Student Life Department at Beirut Arab University celebrated the “Homecoming” Open Day at the university’s Debbieh campus. The event brought together thousands of students along with faculty and administrative staff from all campuses — Beirut, Debbieh, Tripoli, and Bekaa — in a day full of energy, creativity, and art. The celebration was attended by BAU President Professor Wael Abdel Salam and Secretary General Dr. Omar Houri.
The highlight of the evening was the performance by Lebanese star Joseph Attieh, who entertained the audience with a selection of his most popular songs, including “Taab El Shouq”, “El Baghdagha”, “Koun”, “Wala Momken”, and “Oullon Ennak Lebnene”. Students enthusiastically sang along and waved the Lebanese flag, creating an atmosphere of unity and pride.
The event reaffirmed BAU’s commitment to strengthening the spirit of belonging, supporting student talents, encouraging extracurricular engagement, and creating an interactive environment that combines entertainment and learning reflecting the university’s vision of building a holistic campus life.
The day began with an exhibition for the university’s Student Life clubs, where different clubs presented their activities and goals, giving new students the opportunity to explore and integrate into university life. A vibrant food court further enriched the social and festive atmosphere.
Another highlight was the Singing Competition between Faculties – Celebrity Duets Edition, featuring students from BAU’s ten faculties. The event included special guest appearances by Tony Abou Jaoude, Anthony Touma, Yazan Kamel, and George Tawil, who performed duets alongside students. The competition concluded with Mohammad Khattab from the Faculty of Engineering winning first place.
The festivities culminated in an electrifying concert by Joseph Attieh, whose performance drew an audience of over 5,000 students, leaving an unforgettable mark on BAU’s Homecoming celebration.
The Student Life Department reiterated Beirut Arab University’s mission of fostering belonging, empowering youth, and creating dynamic spaces where learning, art, and entertainment converge. As a token of appreciation, BAU presented Joseph Attieh with the university’s honorary shield in recognition of his contribution to the event.
