Cooperation Agreement between BAU and the HOPES project funded by the ‘EU Madad’

A Cooperation Agreement was signed between Beirut Arab University and the HOPES project implemented by the British Council which included about 300 HEEAP (Higher Education English Access Programme) scholarships funded by the European Union’s Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis, the ‘Madad Fund’for university students, covering the fees of English language courses at BAU. This agreement comes within the framework of Joint Cooperation between the University and the British Council to enable students, especially Syrians, to acquire English language skills. The agreement was signed by BAU President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Human Rights Center Professor Amr Galal El-Adawi, and the Director of the British Council Lebanon office Mrs. Donna McGowan in the presence of BAU Secretary General and Director of the Human Rights Center Dr. Omar Houry, Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences Professor Mayssah El-Nayal as well as representatives of the British Council, English Department, Language Center, and Human Rights Center. The HOPES project is implemented by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) together with the British Council, Campus France and Nuffic in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
