IAU 2018 International Conference

A delegation from Beirut Arab University participated and attended the “IAU 2018 International Conference: Higher Education Partnerships for Societal Impact” that was held by the International Association of Universities at Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia from the 13th to the 15th of November 2018.

The delegation was headed by the President of Beirut Arab University Professor Amr Galal El Adawi and consisted of Dr. Omar Houri, Secretary General, Professor Ibtihal El- Bastawissi, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture- Design and Built Environment, and Ms. Zina Ariss, the Director of the Public Relations Administration.

Prof. Ibtihal El Bastawissi, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Design and Built Environment participated in the Conference through her Research Paper in “Case Study- Informing Policy and Development”.

The Conference dealt with many issues that concern the Higher Educational Institutions such as the role of higher education as a global common good. The conference studied cases such as the Community Engagement and the Private Sector Engagement. Moreover, Societal Responsibilities and Engagements were one of the main topics that were discussed during the Conference.

The Conference was attended by many Universities from different countries such as: South Africa, Canada, India, Ghana, Ireland, Lebanon and Iran.
