Memorandum of Understanding Between the Beirut Bar Association and Beirut Arab University
19 September 2025Beirut Arab University, represented by its Secretary General Dr. Omar Houri on behalf of the University President, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Beirut Bar Association, represented by its President, Mr. Fadi Khalil Masri. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between academic and professional institutions in Lebanon, in line with their shared vision of advancing legal education and developing legal skills. It further seeks to promote justice and protect human rights by offering workshops and training programs that enhance awareness, through the Faculty of Law and Political Science, the Human Rights Center, and the Center for Continuing Education at the University, as well as through the Bar Association’s Institute of Advocacy or any of its bodies and committees.
The University will grant tuition fee discounts to lawyers and staff of the Bar Association. In addition, the two institutions will jointly organize academic and professional conferences addressing emerging laws and contemporary legal challenges, and will strengthen the role of the legal clinics at the Faculty of Law and Political Science by offering training opportunities for students in cooperation with the Bar Association through its Legal Aid Committee or Institute of Advocacy. They will also exchange legal publications between the Faculty’s Library and the Bar Association’s Library (Al-Adl Journal), and organize intensive training programs to support graduates and students preparing for the Bar Association’s entrance exams, through preparatory courses focusing on the practical and theoretical skills required for the practice of law.
