The Signing of Three Cooperation Protocols at Beirut Arab University – Bekaa Campus
13 August 2025Beirut Arab University, represented by its President, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, signed three protocols of cooperation with:
- Dar Al-Fatwa – Baalbek-Hermel, represented by His Eminence the Mufti of Baalbek-Hermel, Sheikh Bakr Al Rifai.
- Dar Al-Fatwa – Rashaya, represented by His Eminence the Mufti of Rashaya, Sheikh Dr. Wafiq Hijazi.
- Azhar Al-Bekaa Institutions, represented by His Eminence the Mufti of Zahle and Western Bekaa, and President of Azhar Al-Bekaa Institutions, Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohammad Al Ghezzawi.
The signing ceremony was attended by BAU Secretary General, Dr. Omar Houri; Dean of Academic Affairs and International Relations, Professor Sobhi Abou Chahine; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Adel El Kordi; Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Ghassan Younis; Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, represented by Dr. Ali Abou Ali; and Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, represented by Dr. Sarah Al Zein.
The protocols aim to identify, prepare, and implement studies with social, economic, and educational dimensions of mutual interest in the fields of research, development, and community service. They also include the exchange of completed or ongoing research and scientific theses sponsored, supervised, or endorsed by party; the contribution of specialized academic staff from both sides in designing studies and research; the organization of scientific seminars and discussion groups on topics of common interest; and the implementation of awareness, health, and charitable campaigns targeting the local community. Additionally, the protocols provide for the design and execution of joint training programs and courses for specialists in the fields of economics, development, and sociology.
Furthermore, students in any specialization proposed by Dar Al-Fatwa and accepted for registration will be granted a 30% discount on university credit fees, knowing that the number of beneficiaries in the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy does not exceed five students per year. Students enrolled at the Bekaa Branch will receive a 40% discount on credit fees.
