The Public Relations Administration at Beirut Arab University organized a Dialogue with the Egyptian Actress Yousra at Beirut Campus as BAU’s support to the youth and dealing with their issues were always on the university’s priority. Based on her experience and acting career, Yousra aimed to advise university students on the significance of patience and never giving up as failure is never the end of the world. On the contrary, there are always ways to overcome difficulties through defining our gaols in life and striving to achieve them regardless of their difficulty. The event was attended by the Egyptian Ambassador Mr. Nazih Al Najari and his wife, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Lebanon Dr. Ali Al Amiri, Former MP Dr. Ammar Houri, Captain of the Syndicate of the Lebanese Press Editors Elias Aoun, Captain of the Association of Lebanese Artists for Painting and Sculpture Dr. Nizar Daher, BAU Academic and non- Academic staff as well as a crowd of representatives of associations and social and media bodies. The event started with the Lebanese and BAU Anthems and was presented and moderated by the Director of the Public Relations Administration at BAU Mrs. Zina Ariss, who spoke about " Yousra’s wealth of experience which is full of cinematic and dramatic works that not only led her to glory but also widened her horizons to hold an important international position and become a role model to be followed at the Egyptian and Arab cultural and artistic levels." Mrs. Ariss’ opening speech was then followed by a documentary about the Yousra’s entire life that tackled her private life as well as all stages of her career. The meeting started with Yousra extending her heartfelt thanks to BAU for hosting this event. Then, she talked about her beginnings to stardom, pointing out that "she never dreamt of being an artist at a young age,” and that “pursuing such a career was purely coincidental." She confirmed that "there have always been those who supported her in her career which started as a singer who never sang but shifted to acting and filmed 25 movies that were not displayed until she was named the Canned Star.” Yousra stressed the fact that “she never joined a drama school but always met with students and professors to benefit from their experiences." She also met with great writers of Arabic literature and pointed out that "the plays she participated in are few due to stage fright.” She also shed light on the 17 movies she performed next to Adel Imam and spoke of her experience with the great director Youssef Chahine, whom he chose her to act in 1981 as he "believed in my talent and my personality" according to Yousra. As for her acting experience with young actors, Yousra considers she has always "supported and encouraged many young actors after believing in their abilities as there is a generation of young people in the field of acting and music that we have always cherished." She also praised the Lebanese director Nadine Labaki, whom she considers "qualified” and the Lebanese international designer Elie Saab who is an “honour for Lebanon and the Arab world." In the end, President El Adawi awarded Yusra BAU shield of Appreciation.
