Health Without Borders An Intelligent IoMT Platform for Chronic Care

PhD candidate Rayane ElRaba’a (Faculty of Science, Beirut Arab University), under the supervision of Dr. Soha Rawas, delivered an invited scientific webinar titled “Health Without Borders: An Intelligent IoMT Platform for Chronic Care” at the Central Research Laboratory (CRL), King Saud University (online via Zoom) on 15/4/2026.

The webinar presented an AI-driven Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) framework for continuous monitoring and early detection of chronic diseases, using diabetes as a case study. The proposed system addresses limitations in current healthcare systems, especially in low-resource settings, by enabling real-time monitoring, early risk detection, and automated alerts through a decentralized approach.

The talk also highlighted challenges in global digital healthcare, compared the proposed framework with existing solutions such as EHR systems and telemedicine, and emphasized lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic regarding remote and continuous care.

The session concluded with discussion and collaboration opportunities aimed at future clinical validation and integration into healthcare systems.
